This should be fun if you live in near Folsom California. VORRA is holding it’s final weekend of racing event complete with a BBQ, pumpkin carving contest and costume party. I live nowhere near there, otherwise I would have cleared my calendar for this weekend.

I should have known this was going to happen. It happens every year. When the weather starts taking a dip toward the wintery, my sinuses act up and I get a mini-sinus cold. So, instead of enjoying the sunny, but cool, weather, I spend it with a scratchy, irritated throat and stuffy/runny nose.

Bring on the weekend. I’ve got four more chances to ride so I can’t wait for this weekend to get here. I might just take a slightly longer road trip to get to a more secluded set of off road trails. It should be fun.

Ah, a three day weekend. I don’t know specifically what Labor Day is supposed to commemorate, other than the end of the summer season, but at least we have an extra day to live it up once more before the onset of fall and winter. Although, I sometimes find the Autumn more enjoyable for riding.

Not that I’m overjoyed about it, but at least I got a chance to get out and go for a ride. I took my ATV to a local trail park and just enjoyed the scenery. It’s got this great bluff overlooking a river and dense foliage. Ah, I hope this weekend is as good as the last one as far as weather is concerned.

Thank God for the Weekend. That’s pretty much all I have to say. This has been one of those weeks I just wanted to crawl into bed and tell the world to go ahead without me and I’ll catch up with it next week. I hear an ATV calling my name.

The heat wave continued all through this weekend in my area, and I sweated enough during my last weekend ride that I didn’t want to have to pour myself off of my ATV when I was done, so I didn’t ride this past weekend. Of course, Monday morning rolls is with a break in both the humidity and the temperature. Grrr!

Well, the weekend did give me a couple of chances to get out and ride around a little bit. It was a little on the hot side for Sunday, complete with humidity. But I figured better to go out and ride in the humid air before the air gets too cold to ride in.

This weekend was unbelievable with the humidity in my area. Even as the sun was below the horizon, the humidity made it feel very warm. I don’t like to ride without the proper safety gear (it’s a hobby, and I have nothing to prove), so riding this past weekend was an exercise in sweating. Extra water was definitely a must this weekend.

Yeah, I know it was technically yesterday, but I still wanted to wish everyone a happy 4th of July weekend. Most of us are off from work today, so that gives us another day to ride or just enjoy the lives we have in this country. Make the most of it, everyone.
